ABOUT US
We believe in THE HOLY SCRIPTURE: accepting fully the writings of the
Old and New Testaments as the very Word of God, verbally inspired in
all parts and therefore wholly without error as originally given of
God; altogether sufficient in themselves as our only infallible and
authoritative rule of faith and practice.
The Baptist Church Covenant
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to recognize Jesus of Nazareth as the Christ of God, and
on the profession of this faith, having been baptized in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, most reverently and joyfully enter into covenant
with one another, as members of the household of faith.
With this view we engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian Love, to strive
for the Advancement of this Church in Knowledge, In Holiness and Comfort, to Promote its Growth and Spirituality,
to sustain Its Worship, Ordinance, Discipline, and Doctrines.
To pledge annually and contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the expenses and ministries of the
Church, and to volunteer talent and time to the missions of the Church.
We engage to maintain family and sacred devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the spiritual
well-being of Our Kindred and Acquaintances.
To be reverent and loyal to the growth of truth and goodness; to be just in our dealings; faithful in our
engagements; and exemplary in our deportment; to be kind in criticism, temperate in spirits, respectful of the
dignity of others, and always zealous in our efforts to build the kingdom of God.
We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love;
giving and receiving admonition with meekness and affection; to remember each other in prayer; to aid all men in
sickness and distress; to be slow to take offense; to oppose social evil and injustice and to emulate Christ as
agents of reconciliation.
We moreover engage that perchance we move from this place we will as soon as possible, unite with some other
church that shares this faith, where we can carry out the spirit of this Covenant which we believe is consistent
with the principles of God's will.
